The Howard Hughes Corp. partnered with Discovery Land Co. of Scottsdale, AZ, to add another layer of luxury to Las Vegas living.
The property under development is 555 acres near the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area. The Summit Club luxury real estate will reside on a parcel of the original property purchased by Howard Hughes himself in the 1950s when Summerlin was just a vision. Hughes traded a portion of his initial acquisition to allow for a buffer zone near part of the Conservation area while he received acreage more suitable for residential building.
Those acres have blossomed over the last 30+ years into what we now know as Summerlin, Nevada. With over 100,000 residents, Summerlin is more than just a collection of homes; it provides a community and lifestyle, unlike any other planned habitat.
Summerlin is usually spotted on Top 10 Best lists in publications all over the country. From active adult lifestyles to best public schools, Summerlin is always a contender for the top spot. Healthcare, innovation, technology, and culture all contribute to the attractiveness of Summerlin.

Luxury Real Estate at The Summit Club
What is Las Vegas luxury real estate without golf? This private collection includes an 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Fazio Design. Fazio built the Wynn Las Vegas golf course in 2005 and has golf courses that bear the moniker all over the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe.
The Discovery Land Co. builds high-end homes, but for this builder, it’s as much about the lifestyle as the address. Because the number of home sites is limited in their projects, Discovery creates an intimate atmosphere with a focus on service and family-related activities. They concentrate on providing members with resort-style living every day. This approach is a good fit for Summerlin in that most of the HOAs in Summerlin’s village actively involve participants in planned events.
Amenities at The Summit Club include a kids center, kids’ camp, indoor basketball court, gourmet restaurants that will provide meal-planning services for members, and the Outdoor Pursuits program, one of Discovery’s signature organizations, plans adventures ranging from Red Rock hikes to fly-fishing trips for groups.
Properties include lots ranging from one-third to two acres, available for custom homes. Sizes of home sites vary, and future villagers can choose from golf cottages, clubhouse suites, desert bungalows, club villas, and point villas depending on their lifestyle.
The clubhouse, slated for 110,000 square feet, and 60,000 of that total is for residential condos. Condos range from one to five bedrooms and start at approximately 1,000 square feet. Clubhouse living includes a coffee shop, wellness center, a spa, general store and a theater, all under one common roof.
